Enertherm goes green and becomes Idex La Défense
The concession holder for the heating and cooling network in La Défense is changing its name to mark the network going green.
From 2023, Europe’s largest business district will be heated using biomass. The biofuel currently used in the boiler system will be replaced by agri-pellets.
Made from agricultural raw materials (green waste, rapeseed or corn straw, miscanthus, nut shells, olive pits, vine shoots), this solution will significantly reduce the district’s energy footprint, reducing CO2 emissions by 54,000 tonnes per year.
The network transformation work began in June 2021. The mayors of Nanterre, Courbevoie and Puteaux – cities that are part of the business district – attended an inauguration ceremony organised by the Idex Group. The project was symbolically launched with the planting of a tree at the entrance to the site.
