Over 30 stopping points to recruit 150 future lower-carbon players

Idex is back on the road to promote work-study opportunities. For the fourth consecutive year, Idex is travelling around France with its School Tour, giving young people an insight into the career opportunities offered by the energy transition, and recruiting 150 new talents to take part in our local low-carbon projects.

Between 6 March and 12 April 2025, the tour will visit over 30 towns and schools. It has become a recognised career event for students from year 13 or with up to three years in higher education.

A tour of France to meet future professionals

The 2025 event will visit both big cities and more remote  areas, giving young people everywhere equal access to the opportunities offered by this fast-changing sector of activity. Alongside events at vocational secondary schools, institutes of technology (IUTs) and engineering schools, the bus will stop off at a number of major career fairs including "Emploi en Seine" at the Zénith in Rouen on 14 March, and the Caravane des Métiers in Auvergne-Rhône-Alps in April, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors.

The bus will also welcome students on board in order to show them more about what Idex does. They will be able to talk to agency managers, human resources managers and former work-study students who went on to become employees. They will also be able to take part in interviews as part of job-dating and, in some cases, sign a work-study contract on the same day.

For the first time this year, locally elected representatives will be present at some stopping points, underlining local aspects of the energy transition and the role played by Idex as a key player in the local low-carbon energy market. Their participation further emphasises the importance of coordinating action at local level, in terms of both training and practical initiatives, in order to accelerate a process of decarbonisation that closely reflects the needs and specific requirements of local communities.

With the acceleration of the energy transition, we need young people with advanced skills. Work-study programmes are a direct response to this challenge, enabling students to gain practical experience while providing companies with a pool of immediately operational professionals. With the School Tour, we're out to find the talents of tomorrow, guiding them towards the careers of the future.
