A look back at a week of immersion with year 10 students discovering the workplace
From 27 to 31 January, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of year 10 students as part of their required week in industry, organised with our partner, the association “Create your Future".
A key part of our work with young people, this event offers a week-long immersion in industry, with opportunities to discover a wide range of career possibilities in a stimulating and positive environment.
A programme packed with discoveries
During the week, students had the opportunity to:
-
Explore different business areas, talking to our workforce and finding out more about their day-to-day work.
-
Build their self-confidence by identifying their unique strengths and skills.
-
Establish links between theory and practice, understanding how what they learn at school can be translated into know-how for their future careers.
Interactive activities and enriching discussions were organised every day, giving students a practical and inspiring insight into the workplace.
An experience with positive feedback
Feedback from all the participants was very encouraging:
-
At the end of the week, the students had a better understanding of their personal goals and a clearer idea of their future career choices.
-
The teachers underlined the quality and pertinence of the activities made available to students.
-
Our employees were enthusiastic participants, delighted to share their experience and to be part of this valuable initiative.
A first step towards the future
This week-long immersion in industry is a key part of our commitment to supporting young people. We are proud to be part of their first experience of the workplace and to contribute to their future career choices.
