- Multi technique & Facility Management
In Toulouse, the city courthouse opts for a multi-technical solution with Idex
The city courthouse in Toulouse is part of the Plan Climat Air Énergie Territoire, a local sustainable development plan put in place by the city to achieve a 40% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030.
The city courthouse was looking for a multi-technical service provider, able to run all its systems as part of an energy-efficient approach.
A multi-technical team dedicated to energy performance
Our on-site operational team is in charge of all services relating to heating, air conditioning and ventilation, smoke extraction, high- and low-voltage installations, plumbing, automatic doors and gates, as well as the building envelope for air and water tightness. Our operatives are also responsible for fire protection, information systems security, and finishing works.
The aim is to ensure the safety and comfort of the site and its occupants.
Two specialist technicians, supervised by a site manager, work in shifts to optimise installations and ensure their uninterrupted availability.
In addition to conducting maintenance and other work on these systems, our team also manages the building's overall energy efficiency.
As part of a Global Energy Performance Contract (MGPE), Idex has significantly reduced the gas and electricity consumption of the chillers, plant rooms and fan coil units in the 350 offices of the courthouse.
Our technicians also conducted an environmental impact study while seeking to identify alternative solutions to reduce energy consumption and pollutant emissions while works are in progress. As part of these works, preference is given to recycled and recyclable materials.
Digital technologies for better management
To track maintenance operations and oversee major renovation projects, Idex has put in place a management system to support dedicated on-site operational staff and provide detailed operating reports for customers.
By setting up a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), we are able to manage equipment, stocks and working schedules in real time, plan preventive maintenance operations and work orders, and also see an overview of key performance indicators. The supervision system already in place was upgraded and two buildings were completely rewired, giving our technicians a centralised view of the installations in operation.
All these systems are automated and connected to a control computer.
Through this high-tech innovation, our technicians are able to identify energy-saving opportunities for the courthouse in real time.
Building occupants as key players in the energy transition
Idex has made this contract part of an approach supporting a behavioural transition. Our staff schedule two meetings a year with the association Les Petits Débrouillards in order to:
-
make occupants more aware of the benefits of our work in the field
-
encourage them to adopt eco-responsible practices.
