By installing a heat pump, Amiens University Hospital has been able to support its growth while reducing its energy costs. Result: 25% energy savings (i.e. 8,400 MWh/year, the equivalent of 700 households) for an investment of €2.4 million and an ROI of 3 years, with a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
In Senlis (Oise), Idex is rolling out an energy-saving programme at 48 local authority sites, with the aim of meeting the targets set out in the tertiary sector decree. On the menu: installation of heat pumps, upgrading of boiler rooms and substations, all with a high level of technical expertise.
For the prestigious fashion house Balenciaga (Kering Group), Idex is providing high-performance multi-technical management for 7,000 m2 of buildings in Paris, with the aim of obtaining HQE Operation and Breeam In Use certifications. In particular, our teams supervise high-performance heat pumps to ensure optimum comfort and energy savings.
As part of an Energy Performance Contract, Idex is replacing the oil-fired boilers at the University of Bordeaux with state-of-the-art heat pumps. Spread over 43 buildings (116,000 m2), this programme will deliver energy savings of 27% by the end of the contract.
FAQ on heat pumps
-
What are the main advantages of a heat pump for a commercial or public building?
-
A heat pump can reduce heating energy consumption by up to 50% compared with a gas boiler, while cutting greenhouse gas emissions by a factor of 10.It also guarantees excellent thermal comfort in both summer and winter. By opting for this solution, you are making a major contribution to the environment by significantly reducing your carbon footprint.
-
Which heat pump technology should you choose: aerothermal, geothermal or hybrid?
-
The choice depends on the specific features of your building (location, uses, planned works, etc.). Idex experts will study your situation and guide you towards the most appropriate solution, whether it’s an air-to-air heat pump, an air-to-water heat pump, geothermal energy or a hybrid system with a gas back-up.
-
How much does it cost to install a heat pump, and is there any financial assistance available?
-
The investment varies according to the technology chosen and the characteristics of the building. But it can be largely financed by the energy savings achieved. Idex can help you make the most of available grants (CEE, Coup de pouce Chauffage, subsidies, etc.) and propose financing solutions.
-
How long does a heat pump last and what maintenance does it require?
-
Properly maintained, a heat pump will last 15 to 20 years. Idex will maintain and operate your installation as part of a comprehensive contract, with guaranteed performance over the long term. Our technicians work daily to optimise your heating equipment.
