Idex, Platinum Medallist in 2024 with EcoVadis: recognising our environmental, social and societal commitment
In 2024, Idex received the EcoVadis Platinum Medal with a score of 80/100.
This result places Idex in the top 1% of companies rated, with a score that is 13 points higher than in 2022 (+5 points between 2022 and 2023; +8 points between 2023 and 2024).
It also reflects the commitment of the workforce to implementing a strategy closely aligned with our environmental, social and societal commitments.

Environment (80/100)
Through its business activities, Idex is contributing to the acceleration of the energy transition by developing local, low-carbon energies.
This contribution is tracked using a carbon balance sheet and a methodology aligned with the best standards. The carbon balance sheet used by Idex covers all scopes, with third party verification for scopes 1 and 2. The results are made public.
Idex has set targets for reducing the carbon intensity of its production activities. This is one of the environmental criteria included in its refinancing in late 2023.
On an operational level, Idex has reinforced its environmental management system: analysis of significant environmental aspects of our sites and activities, with action plans tailored to each one in each area (climate, water, waste, biodiversity, air pollution, etc.).
Reflecting the reliability of this system, Idex is increasing the share of its activities covered by ISO 14001 certification: 83% in 2024 (based on headcount).
Idex is focused first and foremost on climate issues and decarbonisation, its core business area: promoting energy conservation, improving the energy efficiency of our facilities, replacing fossil fuels with renewable and recovered energy sources.
Through our activities, our ambition is to contribute to all aspects of sustainable local development. To this end, Idex adopted a Biodiversity Policy in 2023, setting out principles for the management and upkeep of green spaces. At the same time, it formed a partnership with the Fédération des Conservatoires des espaces naturels (federation of entities for the protection of natural areas) to implement action plans tailored specifically to the sites committed to this approach.
Idex organises training courses and workshops to raise awareness among employees, allowing them to contribute even more effectively to our environmental goals. One example is Climate Overview (1,400 participants in late June 2024), a compulsory short module to raise awareness of climate change, in partnership with the Institut de l'Engagement (an organisation for young volunteers) for the deployment of its diploma of first aid for the planet (session of 100 participants ).
Idex is also updating its own practices, and is seeking to green its vehicle fleet by 2030. The catalogue of company vehicles is exclusively made up of electric and hybrid vehicles.
Labour and human rights (90/100)
Human energy is at the heart of the Idex 2030 corporate project.
Safety in the workplace is the number one priority for Idex, which devotes substantial resources to developing a shared safety culture. The share of our activities covered by ISO 45001 and/or MASE certification is increasing, reaching 81% in 2024, (based on headcount).
To find out more, see our Health and safety policy.
A signatory of the United Nations Global Compact, Idex has published a Declaration on human rights.
Idex devotes considerable attention to the working conditions of employees and maintains an active social dialogue. This has provided the basis for a number of company-wide agreements over the past two years.
To attract the most talented people and allow them to thrive, Idex places great emphasis on training, immediately on the arrival of new employees and throughout their careers. The Group has significantly expanded its engagement with work-study programmes: work-study students now make up 5.7% of the workforce. They are supported by trained tutors who are committed to passing on their skills.
As a signatory of the Diversity Charter, Idex promotes diversity and inclusion across its workforce. For the first time in 2024, the Group used a barometer to measure the perceptions and expectations of its employees. Company-wide agreements on disability and gender equality were signed in 2022 and 2023. Many initiatives are underway, including awareness-raising, training, changes to recruitment practices, job retention for the disabled, support for parents, etc.
In 2023, the employment figures for people with disabilities showed an increase although it was still below the regulatory target. The proportion of female employees and managers is increasing (24% of female managers vs. 22% in 2022 / target of 28% by 2030).
Idex employees are partners in the company's success. Almost half of employees are shareholders, following the reopening of the employee share ownership plan in late 2023.
The Group is taking action to build a more sustainable and caring society, working closely with local communities and partners, particularly associations. One of our goals is to foster the individual and collective commitment of Idex employees. We do this through initiatives that are close to our hearts, such as:
-
mentoring programmes to guide young people ( JobIRL) or initiatives to help refugees gain access to the workplace (Kodiko), involving 35 Idex employees
-
the Idex College Tour in autumn 2023 reached over 3,000 secondary school students, who were able to take part in discussions on climate change and careers associated with the energy transition.
Ethics (70/100)
The Group maintains strict compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and upholds the principles of integrity, transparency and respect for human rights in all its activities. These principles are set out with details of our commitment in our Ethics charter and our Declaration on human rights.
Idex implements all the actions required by the Sapin 2 Act in France. In particular, it has drafted a corruption risk map and adopted an Anti-corruption code of conduct. At the same time, it has introduced training for the employees most exposed to the risk of corruption in their work.
An ethical whistleblowing procedure is available to employees as well as to external stakeholders who experience or witness any action or behaviour that contravenes applicable laws and regulations and/or the principles of integrity and respect for human rights (practices contrary to business ethics, discrimination, bullying, environmental damage, etc.).
A comprehensive action plan has also been put in place to develop cybersecurity, identified as a key issue.
Sustainable procurement (70/100)
Idex implements a sustainable procurement policy.
Idex signed the national charter on Sustainable supplier relations and procurement in 2013, and has also drafted its own Sustainable procurement charter. Criteria relating to quality and CSR are included in the expression of needs and are also taken into account in the selection of suppliers, with annual assessments. In 2023, we reviewed our supplier auditing methodology. To learn more, see our sustainable procurement policy.
