Bonduelle, a family-owned manufacturer of plant-rich foods present in over 100 countries, asked Idex to decarbonise its historic plant in Renescure, helping it to contribute positively to the energy transition.

Decarbonised steam for Bonduelle in Renescure

A key player in the local low-carbon energy market, Idex is supporting Bonduelle Group in the design, financing, construction and operation of a biomass boiler plant over a period of 15 years at its site in Renescure, northern France. With this project, Bonduelle is taking a major step forwards in its strategy to promote carbon neutrality. The plant came online in June 2024. Bonduelle Group has already made significant progress in this area and is seeking to cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 38% by 2035 and 62% by 2050.

Idex, a partner of choice in the decarbonisation process

A project in line with the decarbonisation requirements to be met by industry

The ADEME contributed €1.9 million to this project as part of the BCIAT (biomass heating for industry, agriculture and services) call for projects, while Idex invested over €7 million. The new facility will avoid the emission of 6,500 tonnes of CO2 per year, equivalent to more than one-third of residential CO2 emissions in Renescure. With a capacity of 6.7 MW, it will cover 60% of the site's steam requirements.

Conducted in partnership with Idex, the project is a perfect fit with our ambition to make a positive impact. It reflects our determination to decarbonise our sites and to meet our targets of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 38% by 2035 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
